VW Jetta TDI Cup Round Three at Miller Motorsports Park

Kerstin Smutny was once again in action in the iRacing.com sponsored VW Jetta TDi in round 3 at Miller Motorsports Park last weekend.

{EDIT, thanks for your comment below Tim!} Unfortunately, it looks like Kerstin didn’t spend enough time using iRacing to prepare for the event as she had a pretty dismal 23rd place finish after qualifying in 18th.

To cap off a miserable weekend, series officials penalised Kerstin for an unspecified on-track incident;

After the race, series officials imposed penalties on Andrew Novich and Kerstin Smutny for separate on-track incidents. Novich was penalized 10 points and five grid positions for the next race. Smutny was penalized one finishing position and five grid positions for the next race.

A 5 place grid penalty is pretty hefty so she’ll really but against it at the next race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

    As far as I know, only 1 person did pre-race testing on iRacing, and it wasn’t the person mentioned above. :)

    Any idea why more of the drivers aren’t using iRacing to prepare? Seems like a no-brainer to me.
