Using 3 screens in iRacing with Matrox TripleHead2Go [video]

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

I love these 3 screen set-ups in iRacing.

Introduced in the last build were some extensive options for tweaking a 3 screen set-up.

iRacing member Samiad posted this video to showcase his Matrox TripleHead2Go set-up;

A small example of iRacings excellent new ‘3 render’ mode, for 3 screen setups. The simulation now renders three distinct views aligned with each screen so that correct perspective and view is maintained at all times.

Please ignore the crazy amounts of steering this replay shows (it is from an old build of iRacing, and the steering movements is not accurate in the replay).

Video taken with mobile phone in low light, hence not fantastic quality.

SimRacingTonight review the Fanatec Porsche GT3 RS Force Feedback Wheel and Clubsport Pedals [video]

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

Until recently, there wasn’t much choice in the ‘affordable but decent’ simwheel/pedals combo’s. If you could afford the Logitech G25 then that was the popular choice, beyond that you’re looking at a HUGE jump in price to offerings by ECCI and right up to Frex SimWheel at the top of the price range.

However, German company Fanatec have now come into the market with an impressive range of wheels in partnership with Porsche, with the Logitech G27 on the horizon, the G25’s are available at a very reasonable price.

So as they are a fair bit more expensive than the G25 costing €299, are they worth it?

Find out as SimRacingTonight review the combo;

No Logitech G27 at E3

A lot of people were expecting Logitech to use the computer and video games trade show E3 as the platform to officially announce the rumoured G27 wheel, successor to the super-popular G25.

Disappointingly, E3 has been and gone without even a mention of the G27.

Fanatec’s recent entry into the “quality budget” wheel space might have sent Logitech back to the drawing board to beef up the specs.

It’s all speculation though at the moment.

X6 Simulator [video]

Monday, May 18th, 2009

It seems like there are quite a few companies in the ‘motion simulator’ market considering what a niche space it must be.

This one, from X6, looks a lot of fun and with such a compact design, perfect for any simracers home! ;)

Logitech G27 speculation

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

VirtualR have posted some speculation about a possible replacement for the G25 wheel / pedals set.

I’m positive the image posted is a fake but some extra buttons on the wheel certainly wouldn’t go amiss!
