Is this another clue to the possible iRacing / ALMS partnership?

iRacing and their PR agency, Maverick PR, did a press event in New York, held at the BMW of Manahattan dealership. In attendance and presumable doing some demo’s was ALMS driver Tommy Milner.

PR_FLAK from Maverick PR reports;

We even had the luxury of having a pro driver in attendance – Tommy Milner from the Rahal Letterman Racing team, who competes in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) driving a BMW M3. Needless to say, he was really fast on the Limerock track in the game and blew the rest of us away with his lap times.

iRacing seems to be building some close links with the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), first was the deal with Panoz to bring their tracks to the service, now, it seems, iRacing is the official training simulator of ALMS. I’m not sure whether that had been announced previously but it’s mentioned on the official ALMS site here.

On Monday (July 13), BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team’s Tommy Milner, who drives one of two M3 race cars in the Series’ GT2 class, will be featured live Monday morning on New York City’s WPIX-TV from BMW’s Manhattan showroom. iRacing, the official training simulator of Lime Rock Park and the American Le Mans Series, will have a component in the segment as well. Later that day, Milner will participate in a “Meet and Greet” for key clients, customers and fans at the showroom (57th Street & 11th Avenue ).
