SimRacingTonight review the Fanatec Porsche GT3 RS Force Feedback Wheel and Clubsport Pedals [video]

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

Until recently, there wasn’t much choice in the ‘affordable but decent’ simwheel/pedals combo’s. If you could afford the Logitech G25 then that was the popular choice, beyond that you’re looking at a HUGE jump in price to offerings by ECCI and right up to Frex SimWheel at the top of the price range.

However, German company Fanatec have now come into the market with an impressive range of wheels in partnership with Porsche, with the Logitech G27 on the horizon, the G25’s are available at a very reasonable price.

A lot of people were expecting Logitech to use the computer and video games trade show E3 as the platform to officially announce the rumoured G27 wheel, successor to the super-popular G25.

Disappointingly, E3 has been and gone without even a mention of the G27.

Fanatec’s recent entry into the “quality budget” wheel space might have sent Logitech back to the drawing board to beef up the specs.

It’s all speculation though at the moment.
